We get loads of questions on how best to store and serve our chilled pet food. So here are our top recommendations on the best methods to refrigerate, freeze and defrost our chilled dog food.

Chilled Rolls

  • We recommend storing the rolls in the fridge at 4°C to ensure that they remain in optimal condition. They can be stored this way to the end of their shelf life, but if the roll is too large for your furry companion to consume within 5 days of opening, they can also be frozen.
  • When storing frozen, we suggest dividing the rolls into meal sized portions and freezing these portions individually.
  • Thawing the roll portions is best done in the fridge, and once thawed, we do not recommend to re-freeze. You may notice that after thawing, the roll portions may appear a little soggy.
  • We do not suggest feeding your dog the rolls once the best before date has passed, even if the roll has been stored frozen.

Meatballs

  • We recommend storing our meatballs in the fridge at 4°C to ensure that they remain in optimal condition to the end of their shelf life.
  • If the packet is too large for your dog to consume within 3 days of opening, they may be stored frozen.
  • When storing frozen, we suggest dividing the pack into meal sized portions and freezing these portions individually.
  • We do not suggest feeding your dog meatballs once the best before date has passed, even if they have been stored frozen And if you haven't tried our chilled dog food yet, here are three reasons why they are a great nutritional option your pooch will love.
